# SendThings

> SendThings is a free, browser-based private chat and file sharing app that transfers data directly between participants.

SendThings creates short room codes for live, host-approved sessions. Messages and files are transferred over WebRTC data channels when peers are connected, and files are not stored in cloud storage by SendThings.

## Usage Notes

- Host approval is required before a peer can join a room.
- If a sender is offline, that sender cannot serve file downloads until reconnecting.
- Room codes are temporary coordination identifiers, not long-term inboxes.
